State Department's appearance before the Departmental Committtee on Administration and Internal Security
CPA Aurelia Rono, CBS, Principal Secretary, State Department for Parliamentary Affairs, led a team today in a productive session with the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security, chaired by Hon. Gabriel Togoyo. The session focused on the 2024/25 financial year estimates of revenue and expenditure.
The PS highlighted the key achievement of the State Department which included the operationalization of the Steering Committee on the Government Legislative Agenda (GLA) and Parliamentary Liaison, the finalization of the Public Policy Handbook of Kenya, and the initiation of the Legislative Information Tracking System among others.
Accompanying the PS were Mr. Zachary Mwangi, Secretary, Policy Analysis and Coordination; Mr. Nick Biketi, Secretary, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs; Ms. Chepng'eno Soi, Head of Finance; Ms. Zipporah Njoki, Head of Accounts; Mr. James Odongo, Director of Planning; Ms. Joan Wamboe, Director Administration; and Mr. Lawrence Mbugua, Head of Procurement, among others.
This engagement marks a crucial step in the budgeting process, facilitating effective communication of the State Department's financial needs and strategic priorities to the Parliamentary Committee.
