State Department for Parliamentary Affairs

The State Department for Parliamentary Affairs was created by the Executive Order No.1 of January, 2023. It draws its mandate from the Executive Order No.2 of November, 2023 on Organization of the Government of the Republic of Kenya with the key mandate being to coordinate the implementation of the National Government’s legislative agenda across all Ministries and State Departments in consultation with, and for transmission to, the Party/Coalition Leadership in Parliament.

Mission

To co-ordinate the review, development and delivery of the policies and legislation for implementation of the national development agenda.

What we offer

Key Functions

To facilitate realization of the Government Legislative Agenda

Coordinating MDAs and liaising with Parliament on identification, prioritization and formulation of legislations to support the achievement of the national development agenda.

Strengthening the coordination of policy development and implementation

Working with MDAs across all socio-economic sectors and comprehensive engagement of stakeholders to ensure formulation of responsive and supportive policy frameworks for realization of the national development agenda

Facilitating seamless interaction between the Executive and Parliament

Coordination of Parliamentary liaison services across MDAs to ensure effective and harmonious dispatch of Government business in Parliament;
